Brett Lee strikes a chord with Asha : Asha and Friends

asha and lee They are as different from each other as chalk and cheese, and yet one of the fastest bowler in the world, Brett Lee and legendary singer Asha Bhosle have come together to sing a duet for the Indian legend’s new album, Asha and Friends.

As the duo caught up across the continents via video-conferencing, there was lots to talk about, like Lee’s new-born son for instance.

“Do you want your son to become a cricketer or a singer?” asked Asha. “If he plays sports or cricket in general I will be very proud,” replied Lee.

Their mutual admiration for each other was evident. “She’s an icon of India. It was fantastic to sing with Ashaji and learn Hindi,” he said.

“When I taught him how to write my name, he learnt how to write Hindi instantly,” said Asha.

So enamoured is the cricketer with the singer, that he has promised to name his daughter after the songstress. “Asha Lee sounds nice, it’s got a lovely ring to it,” he said.

So how have his team-mates reacted to Brett Lee’s new-found talent? “If we win the Ashes, I may surprise the boys during the celebration,” said Lee.

Apart from singing another duet with Asha Bhosle, Brett has other plans for his next visit to India.

“I love butter chicken so we can have a cook up!” Till then, it is time to say goodbye in Brett Lee’s inimitable style. Namaskaar,” he concluded.

it was great to see brett lee singing with asha bhosle well although he is a proffesional cricketer we sings very well.

brett i think u lack everything that a bowler needs and in that context shoaib akhtar is much better than u.as people say ur handsome i think u used be handsome but all that has gone in vain and in that comtext shahid afridi is much better ,much superb and handsome than u,this is what i wanted to say.u should learn to take bad criticism as well.

As an Aussie I just want to say it’s great to see a young Aussie sportsman embracing Indian culture and also understanding the beauty and value of older people (not something you see much of in Oz). I have always admired him as a cricketer, now I see he is a genuinely lovely person too. As to those who have posted attacks on Brett Lee, all I can say is, why? You just come across as bitter and jealous. Why not just appreciate talent wherever it comes from?

Learn how to punctuate and how to spell and people might take you seriously. I liken Shoaib’s bowling to watching paint dry – he only gets wickets by boring the crap out of the batsmen. And he can’t sing.

Ahhhre…….Kya Baat hai !!! baat hi baat hai. Brett Lee ur a champion. only thing thats more cheesier is a Paneer pakora. But uv done us indians proud to say the least, if ever Bollywood fails im sure ull revive it. Asha is DAM hot. Bruuoooaaahhhh !
